Live Nation makes new acquisition to extend reach into Malta

Serving as the most significant global platform for concerts and events, it often feels like Live Nation is everywhere. While it still has a few regions to cover, the organization now has a presence in Malta, thanks to a recent acquisition.

With social media infiltration the entire planet, music and art are reaching fans in more places than ever. The growing global connection has led to several untapped markets turning into highly profitable destinations for concerts and festivals. One such country finding success in this space is Malta, where the 356 Entertainment Group has overseen a popular club called Uno as well as delivered exciting events that have brought 56,000 fans to the island for festivals and provided a €51.8 million economic boost to the region. Seeing the success of the organization, Live Nation has now acquired a part of the business, giving the massive promoter its first footing in the region.

John Reid, President, Concerts EMEA at Live Nation, discussed the opportunity: “Malta’s live music scene is experiencing a real boom, and this deal marks an exciting new chapter for Live Nation. By combining 356 Group’s local expertise with our global network and experience, the potential for the island is clear. With amazing scenery, climate and a burgeoning festival scene, Malta is perfectly positioned to become a must-visit destination for live entertainment.” The team at 356 was equally excited as they can continue to grow on their already successful ventures and have a new partner to help achieve new goals. The team said, “This acquisition is a major step forward for 356 Entertainment and UNO Malta. Partnering with Live Nation is a huge milestone which brings new opportunities for the island, that will energize the local and international music scene.”
